Floatation Therapy

  • Avoid shaving or waxing for at least 24 hours prior to your float. Avoid use stimulants such as caffeine for several hours beforehand. Eat a meal about 60-90 minutes prior to your appointment so that you aren’t hungry or overly full while you float.

  • Nothing but yourself and an excited and open mind. We provide eco-friendly shampoo, conditioner and body wash for your pre and post-float shower. We also provide towels, robes, earplugs, q-tips and hair dryers. You float in your birthday suit since our float pods and showers are each in their own private room. Feel free to bring any personal items such as a brush or makeup for after your float. Don’t forget your contact lens case if you wear contacts and a hair tie if you have long hair.

  • It naturally varies from person to person. To get the most out of your experience though, you should try to fully relax like you would if you were meditating. Once you learn to let go and fully relax, you’ll really start to enjoy the experience to the fullest. It often takes a couple of float sessions for people to learn to relax and just be. We recommend committing to at least 3 floats. By the second and third float, you are more prepared to fully ease into the experience and begin your real journey with floatation therapy.

  • Besides the required pre-float shower, each tank has a three-step filtering process that consists of a micron filter, an ultra-violet and ozone purification system and a 35% solution of hydrogen peroxide– a safe alternative to chlorine and bromine. Skimmers are used to keep the surface clear. All the water in our float tanks are filtered five times between every single client. And, the high concentration of Epsom Salt creates an environment that inhibits the growth of bacteria. Our owner, Josh Giles, has his pool operator’s license and maintains proper chemistry of the water, testing the water multiple times every day. We are closed on Mondays to perform a deep cleaning of the entire space to keep our float suites clean and pristine.

  • We provide ear plugs with every float that you may use (some people prefer not to use them). If you do use them you should put them in before your shower while your hands and ears are still dry. If you end up with salt water in your ears its no big deal. We provide a vinegar water rinse that will flush all the salt out. To help prevent water from getting in your eyes, dry your face off before you enter the float pod. A spray bottle of fresh water and a hand towel are hanging in every pod if you accidentally splash salt water into your eyes.

  • Yes. Just follow the same protocol you would for a swimming pool.

  • No. Your skin doesn’t even prune up, but it does become silky soft afterward.

  • No, some people fall asleep, but the water is so buoyant that you stay afloat. The worst that can happen is waking up from getting salt water in your eyes.

  • Definitely! We encourage floating during pregnancy as pregnant women love it. Not only does floating allow you to take a time-out from the added stress of pregnancy, but the strain from the added weight is taken off your body by floating in the weightless environment. If you are concerned for any reason, double-check with your physician.

  • Clinical studies show that it typically takes 45 minutes to get to the Theta brain waves. These are the brain waves that you aim for while meditating (The more meditating and floating experience you have the less time it will take to get to the Theta waves). We don’t want people to just be getting to the good stuff when their float ends. That being said, you are free to get out at any time. Please plan on being here for 2 hours. This allows for pre and post-float showers, 90 minutes of floating, and some time to relax with a glass of tea or water after your float.

  • The sensation of floating is more like floating in outer space than a confined area, and you are always in total control of your float. Feel free to leave the float tank door open or the lights or music on. Or book your float in our Superior Float Room, the ceiling is over 7 feet tall. Enter and exit the Pod or Float Room any time you wish.

  • Yes, you can, but you will need to wait a minimum of 10 days after you dye it to give your new color time to set in completely. If your hair is still bleeding in the shower after 10 days please wait to come float until it stops bleeding.

  • No. The physical and mental benefits are as useful to children as they are to adults, but some may lack the mental discipline for more meditative floating. Similarly, there is no upper age limit. You’ll experience all the same benefits and enjoy some respite from those nagging aches and pains that may seem a bit more persistent as things slow down as we age. We require permission waivers signed for anyone under 18, and a parent must be present for those under 16. If you have mobility issues and might need help getting in and out of the float tank, you will need to bring a helper as we cannot help you in and out for liability reasons. As long as you can safely get in and out of the tank, you are safe to float regardless of your weight.

  • It’s completely up to you, however, when you first start floating, it’s ideal if you float a few times within a fairly short period such as three floats within 2-4 weeks. We know this isn’t always possible and most people will still benefit from even just one float. We encourage you to float regularly, say monthly, weekly or more, for long-term benefits such as helping to maintain reduced stress levels, using it for meditation and improving overall well-being. The best prices we offer come from our memberships. Check out our Pricing page for information on how to become a member today.

  • Floating is safe for almost everyone. People with conditions such as the following should not float: incontinence, uncontrolled epilepsy, open wounds, an infectious disease, drug or alcohol intoxication or kidney problems. If you have a severe medical condition, consult your physician. You should wait 4 weeks after receiving a tattoo to float so that it has time to heal and set.

  • No. Currently we only allow one person per float room. If you require special accommodations due to an impairment or disability, please speak to a staff member.

Halotherapy

  • Halotherapy also referred to as Salt Therapy or Dry Salt Therapy, is a drug-free therapy that recreates the microclimate of a salt cave/mine. Halotherapy can help treat respiratory conditions such as cold, flu, allergies, asthma, bronchitis, cystic fibrosis, sinus infections, sinusitis, rhinitis, hay fever, and emphysema. In addition, the anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties of Halotherapy effectively treat skin conditions such as Eczema, Dermatitis, and Psoriasis. Halotherapy can enhance athletic abilities and singing performances by improving lung function and increasing lung capacity/stamina. Halotherapy helps build your immune system with no side effects.

  • The fundamental method of action in Halotherapy is the dry aerosol of Sodium Chloride that has a particle size of 1-5 microns. The dry salt aerosol is released into the salt room via a Halogenerator. In addition, one whole wall of the room is covered with imported Himalayan Salt.

This process assists with the reduction of inflammation within the airways, which opens constricted airway passages and helps clear mucus.

  • Salt therapy may help improve symptoms of respiratory and skin conditions for people of all ages, beginning at 6 months. In addition, people without a condition can also benefit from Halotherapy’s natural strengthening of the immune system.

  • Symptoms of respiratory conditions: allergies, cystic fibrosis, sinusitis, smoker’s cough, asthma, bronchitis, sinus infections, emphysema, wheezing, rhinitis, hay fever, COPD, and ear infections.

Symptoms of skin conditions: dermatitis, psoriasis, eczema, and acne.

Dry salt therapy may also provide a general improvement of: headaches, stress and fatigue, cold/flu, and snoring. In addition, athletes and singers especially enjoy increased lung capacity.

  • While we make no claims about fixed results, Halotherapy is naturally anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial. Since 1980, founder of Halotherapy, Dr. Alina Chervinskaya, M.D., Ph.D., has shown through her extensive research that there are many positive effects of this treatment. In Europe, doctors have acknowledged that salt therapy is effective in treating patients as prescribing medications have been reduced, symptoms of respiratory conditions are improved and breathing ultimately becomes easier.

  • Halotherapy is an overall relaxing and peaceful experience since the only action required is regular breathing. You may taste saltiness. After a session, most of our clients feel rejuvenated and relaxed.

  • Wear comfortable clothing. If you would like to target skin conditions, then wear minimal clothing such as a tank top and shorts. Note that the room is kept around 70 degrees and others will be in the room. Please refrain from wearing any perfumes or colognes.

  • Sessions are 45 minutes. There is a 15-minute gap between each session in order to filter and purify the room.

  • Based on European clinical research, it is recommended that a course of treatment should be between 6-16 sessions over 4-8 weeks. Every individual will respond differently depending on the nature and severity of his or her condition. It is also important to maintain your treatments to achieve long-term results.

  • Salt is anti-bacterial, which means that it creates a self-cleansing environment. In addition, after each treatment, we also disinfect the salt rooms with cleaning products, and the air is ventilated for a 15-minute period.

  • Clients rarely experience any adverse side effects. However, it is not uncommon to feel a small tickle in your throat, a cough for a day or two, and/or draining of the nasal passages, which is your system working to eliminate excess mucus. Rarely, one may endure a slight skin irritation, if their skin is hypersensitive.

  • Avoid using Halotherapy during the acute or contagious phase of any illness, including the following: colds, flu, infections accompanied by fever, acute active tuberculosis, cardiac insufficiency, COPD in the third stage, bleeding, spitting up of blood, alcohol or drug intoxication, unstable or uncontrolled hypertension, and acute stages of respiratory diseases.

Normatec

  • NormaTec was founded in 1998 by Laura F. Jacobs, MD, PhD, in response to a desperate need for new technology to rapidly and non-invasively treat circulation-related disorders. In 2002, the company introduced the NormaTec PCD (Pneumatic Compression Device), a FDA-cleared medical device that yields highly effective clinical results for patients with peripheral vascular diseases. After hearing reports from athletes that they were using their NormaTec Systems for workout and performance recovery (not just acute injuries), NormaTec started its Athlete Technologies division in 2007. Today, many of the world’s best athletes regularly use their NormaTec Recovery Systems for maximum performance recovery.

  • The most important element for effective compression is the massage pattern. NormaTec’s founder, Laura F. Jacobs, MD, PhD, a physician bioengineer, realized this fundamental principle when she developed and patented the Sequential Pulse Pneumatic Waveform. Unlike more simplistic compression patterns, NormaTec Pulse Technology is based on normal physiology, and it synergistically combines three distinctive massage techniques to speed the body’s normal recovery process: pulsing compression, gradients, and distal release. Through these mechanisms, the NormaTec Recovery System maximizes circulation throughout the body to help you train harder, recover faster, and perform better.

  • Ice is a vasoconstrictor; it constricts your vessels and decreases blood flow. While this is beneficial in the acute phase of an injury to reduce immediate inflammation, in the long run it actually impairs healing and recovery. On the other hand, the NormaTec Recovery System uses NormaTec Pulse Technology to increase circulation and blood flow.

  • Compression technology has been around for decades in both static and simple dynamic forms. But the NormaTec Pulse Technology found in NormaTec Recovery Systems takes dynamic compression to a new level. This unique pneumatic waveform, which is exclusive to NormaTec products, is designed to externally compress the limbs in a way that mimics normal physiology, featuring a sophisticated pulsing, gradient, and distal release compression pattern. Initially developed for medical patients with severe circulatory and peripheral vascular disorders, the NormaTec Recovery System is now the most effective recovery tool for athletes who want maximum performance recovery.

  • The NormaTec Recovery System can be used both before and after exercise, whether it is routine training or high-level competition.

Before exercise, the NormaTec acts as a high-tech massage to warm up your muscles. Pre-workout sessions are generally up to 30 minutes long with a moderate intensity level.

Using the NormaTec Recovery System after intense exercise will significantly speed up your recovery process, allowing you to train harder and perform better. We recommend using your NormaTec within a few hours after exercise to expedite your recovery process. Post-workout recovery sessions are generally 30-60 minutes long with a moderate to high-intensity level (it is safe to pump as long as you want). Sit back, relax, and enjoy the high-tech massage found only in a NormaTec Recovery System.

At Total Rejuvenation, we offer 30 and 60-minute sessions for sale to anybody. Monthly members of any of our services have unlimited NormaTec use for free.
